Hilda Catherine Berghoff , 81 of Kelso died Friday, September 30, 2016 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born on June 2, 1935 to Henry and Frances Seiler Wubker in Leopold, Missouri. She married Leo Berghoff on July 23, 1960. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2015.
Hilda was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso; St. Anne’s Ladies Sodality and was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Post 6407 in Scott City.
Hilda is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Greg) Hency of Benton and their children Brian (Rachel) Hency, Valerie(Kelly) Snell and Stephanie Hency; Joyce (Cecil) Luten of Scott City and their sons, Ben and Andy Luten; Carla (Stacey) Glaus of Chaffee and their daughter, Alecia Glaus; Five sons, Daniel Berghoff of Kelso and his daughter, Katie Berghoff; John (Susan) Berghoff of Scott City and their daughters, Alison and Megan Berghoff; Linus Berghoff of Kelso; James (Tina) Berghoff of Chaffee and their children, Andrew (Shannon) Berghoff, Courtney Berghoff and Aaron Volkerding and Eric Berghoff of Cape Girardeau; three great granddaughters, Arabella Hency, McKenzie Snell and Breanna Kilburn; a brother, Elmer Wubker; four sisters, Alena Fels, Barbara Seyer, Wilma (Norman) Seabaugh and Adel Wubker and a sister-in-law, Betty (Richard) Collins.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Josephine Holweg and Irene Beussink and a grandson, Tyler Glaus.
Visitation will be from 7:30 am until time of service on Wednesday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church with Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be sent in Hilda’s memory to the Catholic charity of choice.
