Paul Leo Robert

Paul Leo Robert, 85, of Kelso, MO, passed away Monday November 14, 2016 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on November 9, 1931 in Scott County, the son of Elva Paul and Anna Rosalia Heuring Robert. He married Laura Jean “Lolly” Welter on May 30, 1956. Paul served in U. S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Marquette Cement and then for Proctor and Gamble as a store room manager. He was on the P & G credit union board for 18 years. He served as Mayor of Kelso from 1966 to 1975. He was member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

Survivors include his wife Lolly; a son, Daryl (Lynda) Robert of Leawood, KS; two daughters, Cheryl (fiance' Greg Nolan) Ziegler of Cape Girardeau and Lisa (Chris) Beussink of Gordonville; a brother Theon “Peck” (Germaine) Robert of Kelso; six grandchildren, Toby (Nicki) Holmes, Courtney Beussink, Jason, Nicholas, Miranda and Madison Robert; two great grandchildren River and Brooks Holmes.

Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish Prayer Service will be at 5:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
