Charles William Parker age, 79 of Chaffee, Missouri passed away Thursday night, January 5, 2017 at the family home after battling cancer.
He was born in Cape Girardeau on December 22, 1937 to the late Harold and Lucille Pape Parker. He married Doris A. Crowden on October 6, 1962 and she survives of the home.
Charlie was a fork lift operator for 20 years at Superior Electric. He later worked at the Estech Fertilizer Mill in Chaffee. Charlie was considered one of the best workers that Chaffee has ever had as he worked for both the Chaffee Water and Parks Departments. Charlie also worked for eleven years as a driver for the Chaffee Meals on Wheels until he got sick in 2014. He was a deacon at the Randles General Baptist Church since 1976. Charlie served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife Doris; a son, Kevin (Rhonda) Parker of Chaffee; three daughters, Teresa Parker and fiancée Jeff Ragsdale of Ballwin, Missouri; Cindy James of Chaffee; Leslie (Dean) Swigert of Ellsinore, Missouri; two brothers, Edgar (Norma) Parker of Chaffee and Terry (Judy) Parker of Jackson, Missouri; three sisters, Donna Macke of Granite City, IL; Peggy Appleton Roland of Bertrand, Missouri, and Libby (Bill) Koch of Kelso, Missouri; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday at the Chapel with Rev. Keith Price assisted by Rev. Mike Huffman officiating. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Full Military Honors.
