Leon “Honey” Graviett, age 91, formerly of Morley passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO.
He was born on May 15, 1925 in Fryesville, AR to the late William Orval and Margaret Knauss Graviett. He married Patsy Ruth Shy on May 15, 1947 in Piggott, AR and she preceded him in death on May 8, 2010.
Leon “Honey” was a retired truck driver for Commercial Transport in Cape Girardeau. He was a local teamster in Cape Girardeau. He served in the United States Army during the occupation of Japan in World War II.
Survivors include four sons, Mike Graviett of Beloit, KS; Gary (Mary Alice) Graviett of Rolla, MO; Roger “Hott” Graviett of Morley; Denny (Debbie) Graviett of Chaffee; a daughter, Carla (George) Trankler of Advance, MO; a sister Betty D’Angelo of San Jose, CA; twenty-three grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson.
Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday at the Chapel with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO with full Military Honors.
