Robert “Bob’ Porter Farmer, age 77, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Porter and Eva Barber Farmer.
Bob lived an active life; he attended Bethany Lutheran Collage and played basketball, he served in the U.S. Army. He then worked for Gould Century Electric, owned a lounge “Maggie’s”, AGS trucking company, and then retired as operations manager for Brothers Transfer Service Inc. of St. Louis. He enjoyed sports, music and Tennessee Walkers.
He was also preceded in death by his brother John Farmer.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Jeanette) Farmer of Potosi, Missouri; two daughters, Rhonda (Roger) Smith of Macon, Missouri and Leslie Ann (Kevin) Lesko of Mt. Olive, Illinois; three honorary sons, Russell, David, and Jason Hockett; a sister, Barbara (Richard) Kusserow of El Paso, Texas; a sister-in-law, Holly Farmer of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Grant and Grace Smith, Abigail and Sarah Lesko, and one great-grandson, R. Warner Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call after 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Missouri with Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to, Happy Hooves Equine Rescue, 7026 State Route 140, Edwardsville, Illinois 62025.
