James Roth

James August Roth, 91 of Jackson formerly of Scott City died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born April 25, 1925 in Ilmo, Missouri to August John and Anna A. Dissen Roth.

James formerly worked as a yard clerk for the Cotton Belt Railroad; he was a farmer and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Eisleben Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a brother, David (Carol) Roth of Jackson; two sisters, Mabel Schwark and Ruth Fuhrmann of Indianapolis, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Carlton Nebel of St. Louis; Sister-in-law; Arlene Roth of Frankenmuth, Michigan and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Leroy Roth; a sister, Bernice Nebel ; two brothers-in-law, Augie Schwark and Lloyd Fuhrmann and a nephew, Mike Fuhrmann .

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. There will be a hymn- sing at 7:30 pm.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service on Friday at the Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Friday at the church with Rev. Marty Hasz officiating.

Burial will be in Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery in Scott City.
