Raymond Andrew Messmer, 74 of Scott City died Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home. He was born September 10, 1942 in Kelso, Missouri to Ervin Frank and Sylvia Ann Heisserer Messmer. He married Kathy Moore on January 1, 1970 in Benton, Missouri.
He was a truck driver for Super Value. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Cape Eagles Aerie 3775 and was a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Darrin) Berghoff of Whitewater, Missouri, Jeannie (Rusty) Underwood of Scott City and Connie Brashear of Flower Mound, Texas; son, Bill (Laura) Moore of New Wells, Missouri; two grandchildren, Andrew (Shannon) Berghoff and Halie Berghoff of Jackson, Missouri; a brother, Earl Messmer of Gordonville, Missouri and two sisters, Marlene Morton of Cape Girardeau and Claudine ( Alvin) Sheeter of Danville, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Norvel Messmer.
Visitation will be from 5:00- 8:00 pm on Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 pm
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso with Rev. Joe Weidenbenner as celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso with full military honors.
