James Dodd

James Eugene Dodd Sr. , 67 of Morley died Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.   He was born on August 31, 1949 in Bell City, Missouri to the late Cleveland and Maggie Ann Cochran Dodd. He married Effie Daniels on February 28, 1970.

James owned and operated Dodd’s Pest Control in Oran.

He is survived by his wife; a son, James (Julie) Dodd Jr. of Bloomfield, Missouri; two daughters, Kim (Kip) Lafferty of Aquila, Missouri and Christy (William) Dowdy of Bloomfield; a brother, Jimmy Dodd of California; a sister, Mamie Cowger of Sikeston and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, a sister and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service on Monday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Oran.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday at the chapel with Rev. Jeff Dodd officiating.

Burial will be in Bloomfield City Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO
