Billy Barnett, Jr.

Billy Gene Barnett Jr., 63 of Scott City died Monday, May 15, 2017 at his home. He was born September 9, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Billy Gene and Joyce Mincher Barnett Sr. He married Mary Jane Willis on July 4, 1985.

He was a control room operator for Buzzi-Unicem and a member of Cape Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his father; Billy Barnett Sr. of Scott City; a son, Keith Alan Barnett of Troy, Missouri; a daughter, Kari Ponce of San Antonio, Texas; three stepsons, Kenny Strop of Jackson, David Strop of Cape Girardeau and Bobby Strop of Lake Girardeau, Missouri; a brother, Alan (Charlene) Barnett of Chamois, Missouri; a sister, Diane Masterson of Scott City; 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday at the chapel with Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
