Claude Edward Curtis, 79, of Chaffee passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on October 17, 1937 in Conran, Missouri to the late Robert and Alice Garrison Curtis Sr. He married Lavetta Fish Hooker on September 28, 1963 and she survives of the home.
Claude was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to dance. He was a member of Chaffee Elks, Lodge # 1810, Advance Eagles Aerie 4151. Claude was in the United States Army and stationed in Korea.
He is survived by his soul mate Lavetta Curtis; a son, Terry (Sherry) Curtis of Chaffee; a daughter, LaTanya (Ed) Sadler of Chaffee; two brothers, Robert (June) Curtis of Dexter, Missouri and Charley (Jeanne) Curtis of McClure, Illinois; two sisters, Virginia Ash of Puxico, Missouri and Janeth (Lindy) Moss of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Davis.
Friends may call after 11:00 am on Friday, September 22, 2017 until time of service at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday at the Chapel with Rev. Bob Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee with full Military Honors.
