Carl Edward Christy

He was born on May 8, 1921 in Bell City, MO to the late James Oliver and Louvina Leazenby Christy. He married Lois L. Slinkard on January 26, 1942 and she preceded him in death on April 15, 2004.

Carl was a retired heavy equipment operator/mechanic with Lonestar Industries in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chaffee. He was in the United States Army stationed at Panama Canal during World War II.

He is survived by a son, Glenn (Denice) Christy of San Antonio, TX; two daughter, Betty Bagbey of LaKeland, FL; Karen (Dean) Sadler of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren, Lisa Briscoe, Lesley MacDougall, Darin Sadler, Lindsay Keane, Garrett Christy and Danielle Christy and eleven great-grandchildren

He was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the Chapel with Rev. Matt Butrum officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO with full Military Honors.
