Violet Lambert

Violet Virginia Lambert, 90 of Scott City, Missouri died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born February 13, 1927 to Thomas and Pauline Simpson Nemmo. She married Alfred A. Lambert, Jr. on April 6, 1946.

Violet was a homemaker, seamstress, fisherwoman and cook, especially known for her divinity, fried fish and hushpuppies. She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Scott City.

She is survived her husband of 71 years; two children, Sharon Shafer and her husband Ed from Alto Pass, Illinois and Tom and his wife Debbie of Scott City; grandchildren, Jimmie Brett Griffin and his wife Janine from Scott City and his sisters, Gina and Erin, Jason Shafer and his wife Marie from Jefferson City, Missouri, Paula Shafer and partner Alan Hoffmeister from Cincinnati, Ohio, Tommy Lambert and partner Brandi Ward from Scott City, Daniel Lambert from Cape Girardeau and Holly Hottel and partner Michael Bass from Jackson as well as 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her second daughter, Connie Lee Griffin; her parents; four siblings and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating.
