Leeroy "Butch" Winfer Abernathy

He was born on March 23, 1928 in Scott County, Missouri to the late Henry William and Levadie Mae Hoxworth Abernathy. He married Betty Ruth Oliver on March 7, 1949 and she preceded him in death on August 2, 1992.

Leeroy was a retired spreader for Thorngate Ltd in Chaffee. He attended First Baptist Church of Morley.

He is survived by two sons, Winfer Ray (Margaret) Abernathy of Junction City, Kansas; Billy Lynn Abernathy of Morley; two daughters, Wanda (Jim) Lovel of Morley; Christy Sue Whorton of Morley; a brother, Bobbie Eugene Abernathy of Morley; a sister, Violet Mozelle Farmer of Oran; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brother and seven sisters.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Morley with Brother David Thompson officiating. Burial will be at New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
