John Swinney

John Allen Swinney, 69 of Benton, Missouri died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born September 29, 1948 in Sikeston, Missouri to Charles J. and Lillian Myers Swinney. He married Leta Faye Hill on May 9, 1967.

He was a police officer for the Sikeston Police Department and deputy for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Corey Swinney of Benton and Rick (Rita) Swinney of Bell City, Missouri; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Allen Swinney, Jr and a grandson, Jonathan Swinney.

A private memorial service will be held for the family.
