He was born on Jan. 24, 1945 in Cape Girardeau to the late Leo Simon and Doris Faye McDaniel Schott. He married Carolyn Morrison on Feb. 23, 1963 and she survives of the home.
Leo was a retired diesel mechanic – Over the road truck Driver and Tyson contractor. He served as a minister at his church and Benton Jail. He was a member of The Sanctuary in Sikeston. Leo was in the Navy Reserve.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Schott; two sons, Doug (Darlene) Schott of Branson, Missouri; Jeff (Leah) Schott of Bell City, Missouri; a daughter, Kelley (Steve) Prochak of Oran; a brother, Larry Schott of Perkins, Missouri; four sisters, Charlotte Foulk of Rockview; Janet Smith of Scott City; Elizabeth Bryeans of Perkins; Debbie Riegert of Memphis, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Schott.
Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Tuesday at The Sanctuary, 338 Matthews Ave. Sikeston, Missouri 63801.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at The Sanctuary with Rev. Rick Lovall and Rev. Gene Warren officiating. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors.
