Joda Griggs

He was born on Aug. 29, 1945 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Lutey and Lorene Griggs. He married Beverly J. Stroup on Feb. 18, 1978 and she survives of the home.

Joda was a Police Officer with the Chaffee Police Department for 17 years. He then worked for Universal Security Services in Cape Girardeau as a Security Guard retiring after fourteen years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Griggs; a daughter, Michelle (Mike) Horman of Chaffee; two brothers, Willard Griggs of Fredericktown, Missouri and Jimmy Griggs of Silva, Missouri; a sister, Dimple Fay Griggs of Alabama; a grandson, Trevor Cannon; two granddaughters, Kiana Cannon and Kerri Cannon; a great-grandson, Warren.

He was also preceded in death by a son Joda Matthew Griggs on Dec. 21, 1996.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday at the Chapel. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
