Sylvester Raymond Todt

He was born on Oct. 5, 1930 in Morehouse, Missouri to the late John T. and Bertha F. Hoehn Todt. He married Della June Moore on Oct. 30, 1951, and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2017.

Sylvester was a member of Guardian Angel Parish and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4311. He is lovingly remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Sylvester was an American farmer and an American trucker. He loved the land, tilling the soil, growing things and preserving food. He enjoyed traveling and seeing the countryside. Known as “Mr. Fix It”, Sylvester could put almost anything back together and make it like new.

He is survived by four sons, Larry Alan Todt, Gregory Raymond (Lori) Todt, Vance Christopher (Tammy) Todt and Brian Sylvester (Crystal) Todt, all of Oran; a daughter, Pamela June Todt Wilgus of Oran; a brother, Robert Todt of Oran; a sister, Theresa Schlitt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Rachael, Jason, Jill, Justin, Jared, Angela, Lexie, Logan, Morgan and Courtney; seven great grandchildren, Daley, Ryder, Halie, Aubrie, Jordynn, Lillie, and Rorie.

He is also preceded in death by a son, Garry Wayne; a son-in-law, Donald Wilgus; a grandson, Austin Brian; four brothers, Harold, Herman, Carl and Cletus Todt; two sisters, Regina Anderson and Geraldine Lewis.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 pm at the Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church with Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
