Loyd Smith

Loyd William Smith, 87 of Scott City died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born July 9, 1930 in Dupo, Illinois to John Henry and Mary Elizabeth Lynn Smith.

Loyd was retired from the U.S. Army and had served in Korean War. After retiring from the Army he was a salesman for Schott Electric and Cape Electric.

He is survived by two brothers, Tom Smith and Jim Smith of Scott City and a sister, Mary Lee Davis of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the chapel with Rev. Larry Rouse officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
