Leon Joseph Kirchdoerfer

He was born on May 13, 1928 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late George and Bertha Hoefler Kirchdoerfer. He married Joann Alma Kielhafner on April 30, 1955 and she survives of the home.

Leon worked in maintenance from 1955-1986 with Lonestar in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1111 of Cape Girardeau, St. Ambrose Mens Club and Cape Girardeau Veterans of Foreign Wars #3838. He worked in farming before he served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife Joann Kirchdoerfer; three sons, John Kirchdoerfer of Palm Springs, California; David (Tracy) Kirchdoerfer of Chaffee; Leonard Kirchdoerfer of Healdsburg, California; a daughter Georgia Smith of Chaffee; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call after 4:00 pm Monday at Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Parish Rosary 7:00 pm followed by K.C. prayers.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee

with Rev. Randy Tochtrop and Rev. William Hennecke as concelebrants. Burial will be at St Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee with full military honors.
