Marvin Pobst

Marvin Gregory Pobst, 84, of Oran, MO passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.  He was born on July 7, 1934 in Oran, MO to the late George and Rosie Walter Pobst.   He married Frances Kay Rievley on April 22, 1972 and she preceded him in death on December 30, 1994.

Marvin served in the U. S. Army. After his service he stayed busy with farming and he worked on a river boat for a number of years.  He also owned and operated a liquor store in Chaffee.

Survivors in include a son, Greg Pobst of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Marla (Damian) Eftink of Leopold, MO; a brother, Leonard (Verleen) Pobst of Oran; three grandchildren, Luke, Matthew and Ashley Eftink.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Burnett Chapel in Oran after 4:00 pm on Monday. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 pm followed by the Oran KC prayers.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant.

Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
