Lynn Gentry

Lynn Robert Gentry, 87 of Scott City, Missouri died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his home.  He was born February 23, 1931 in Sikeston, Missouri to Glen H.  and Pearl Collins Gentry.  He married Norma Lee Russom on November 13, 1955.  She preceded him in death on June 14, 2007.

He was a Riverboat Pilot and was a member of Cape Elks and  V.F.W. Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three sons, Jeff (Margaret) Gentry of Gordonville, Missouri, Keith (Teresa) Gentry of Scott City, Missouri and Kevin (Pamela) Gentry of Lakeland, Florida; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Miranda, Michael Gentry, Christopher Gentry, Robert (Morgan) Gentry, Ryan Gentry and Rachele Gentry; four great grandchildren, Brieyana, Carlee, Alana and Colton; five brothers, Mike and Dick Gentry of Cape Girardeau and Stan, Steve and Danny Gentry of Scott City; a sister, Connie Scales of Houston, Texas and a sister-in-law, Patsy Gentry of St. Clair, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Bill and Roger Gentry and a sister, Betty McKinley.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday at the Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday at the chapel with Rev. Randy Morse officiating.

Burial will at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.

Memorial donations can be made to Crown Hospice.
